Planning is just procrastination in disguise.
Let’s be honest; you’re not planning, you’re just stalling. And you say you’re strategizing, you say you’re refining, and you say you’re not ready. But deep down you know what you’re doing, and that’s hiding.
According to Inc. Magazine, 61% of entrepreneurs said they delayed their launch because of over planning, and it’s simply because over planning feels SAFE. You trick yourself into believing that you’re actually making progress, when in reality, you’re just avoiding risk. (Alston Godbolt)
So let me be clear: you don’t need a perfect plan to move forward, you just need to move. Clarity doesn’t come from sitting at your desk tweaking your road map, it comes from doing, testing, failing, fixing, re-launching.
Planning is often just fear in a business suit, it’s judgement of yourself, fear of failure and fear of being seen. But you don’t scale by hiding behind bullet points, you scale by launching ugly and then fixing it in public.
Here’s a major difference between people who want to and people that are actually living their dream. Winners execute. They shipped when it was messy, before it was ready, and they adjusted after feedback.
They are in the game while you’re still at the drawing board.
Here’s a question for you: Are you moving or just reading books, planning and pretending to or trying to?
As Nike says, “just do it” already.
Fix it later.
